Make, touch, poke, play
January 13, 2014
Its funny how playdough is always a hit. No matter what age kids are (even my junior high students love it!), playdough fires the imagination and engages kids. It allows them to touch, mould, play, build, create. So much creativity from such a simple thing.
I just came across a new recipe for playdough – this one especially appeals to me because it is Gluten Free. I worry about my kids accidentally getting gluten in them with the regular home made recipe. Anyways, here is the recipe, found at: http://pagingfunmums.com/2013/11/01/soft-as-a-cloud-playdoughusing-only-2-ingredients/.
1 part conditioner – buy the cheap no-name brand!
2 parts cornstarch
Food coloring – any you’d life!
That’s IT!!! No cooking or flour required!
Step 1 – Pour your conditioner into a bowl – remember that not all conditioners are of the same consistency so you may need to add a little more or a little less corn flour to get the right consistency for you
Step 2 – Pour in the corn flour
Step 3 – Give the mixture a good stir
Step 4 (optional) – Add a few drops of food colouring
Step 5 – Mix well using your hands. This part smells delicious!
Step 6 – Have FUN moulding, squishing, shaping and playing with your new Playdough!
